Perugia is created from heavy full-grain hides, which are aniline-dyed and then dry-milled in a rotating drum, a process that results in a natural break, or pebbled effect, in the surface. While lesser-quality textured leathers may be embossed with a faux “leather” pattern, resulting in a stiff and uniform appearance, Perugia’s texture, created in the drum, seems to come alive with depth and variation.
