There is a subtle two-tone quality to the leather that is typical in pure-aniline leathers, as well as a slight variation in color and tone throughout each hide. This is a modified “pull-up” leather: the color will lighten slightly when the leather is stretched. The sheen on the leather provides some protection, so, unlike naked leathers, which will scuff and scratch, Athene hides can withstand a fair amount of wear-and-tear. The high polish and subtle marbleized coloration add to this product’s distinguished vintage look.
