Download PDF Sales Sheet The latest in Italian leather-making technology, Hornback is a large-scale, reptile-embossed cowhide created with a super-shiny metallic foil. The dramatic, lifelike embossment pattern is inspired by the horned back of the alligator.

Hornback is created with a multi-step process that begins with the preparation of the grain side of the leather for maximum adhesion of the metal foil. Special equipment and techniques are used to bind the metal to the hide so that the finish is durable and yet the leather maintains its softness and flexibility. The metal foil used is of the highest quality, is always from fresh production, and has uniform calibrated thickness that results in the maximum consistency of color and luster throughout each hide. Finally, the hides are deeply embossed with the distinctive hornback pattern, mimicking the exact look and feel of the American alligator.

The result is one of the most unique and brilliant leathers in the Cortina collection.
