Cloudland at McLemore Resort

Part of Hilton’s Curio Collection, Cloudland's award-winning design draws inspiration from its natural surroundings and the area’s Scottish heritage, incorporating locally sourced and natural materials to create spaces that resonate with the mountain's beauty. Large windows throughout the property ensure guests remain connected to the breathtaking, above-the-clouds vistas of McLemore Cove and the Cumberland Plateau.

Dallas-based design firm Flick·Mars crafted the resort's gorgeous interiors, emphasizing a balance between comfort and elegance. Their design philosophy focuses on creating unique guest experiences by reflecting the indigenous surroundings of each location. At Cloudland, this approach is evident throughout the sophisticated guest rooms and communal spaces, which feature plush furnishings with unique details and all-natural materials. This is especially apparent in the Auld Alliance restaurant, which combines natural elements like timber, stone, and leather with statement fixtures and Italian-leather seating to offer a truly luxurious dining experience.

Cortina Leathers was selected to play a significant role in shaping the sensory experience of Cloudland, supplying 24 distinct genuine leather articles that infuse the interiors with richness, texture, and warmth. Each application was chosen to complement Flick·Mars’s vision of rustic craftsmanship elevated by refined, natural materials. Nearly all the Cortina leather selections are protected by Crypton® for excellent cleanability and performance, ideal for public spaces.

One particularly striking detail—a bespoke leather-and-iron railing that frames the soaring great room—adds architectural drama while seamlessly blending into the lodge’s organic palette. Elsewhere, tailored leather buckles, leather seat handles, leather-strapped light fixtures, and distinctive leather adornments offer moments of tactile luxury and visual interest, elevating each space with unexpected charm. The result is an interior environment as memorable as the mountain views—an immersive, nature-inspired luxury retreat where every detail invites guests to slow down, look closer, and feel more connected.
